01What we fix, and what we will tell you not to fix

What we fix, and what we will tell you not to fix

The everyday list: a machine that will not boot, a laptop that overheats and throttles, a cracked screen, a failing hard drive, a battery that lasts twenty minutes, malware, an OS reinstall with your data preserved, an upgrade from a spinning disk to an SSD, and Wi-Fi that drops in half the flat.

The single upgrade that changes most machines in Morocco is the SSD swap. A six-year-old laptop with a mechanical drive feels broken; the same machine with an SSD and a RAM top-up feels new, for a fraction of a replacement. If your complaint is "it has become impossibly slow", that is usually the answer, not a new computer.

What we will say no to: a motherboard-level fault on a low-end laptop that is worth less than the repair, and a screen replacement on a machine whose parts are not available locally in any reasonable time. You will get that verdict at the diagnosis stage, in writing, rather than after two weeks of waiting.

02Parts availability is the real constraint in Morocco

Parts availability is the real constraint in Morocco

Labour is not usually what makes a repair slow here. Parts are.

Standard components — SSDs, RAM, chargers, common laptop batteries, fans — are readily available in Casablanca and Rabat and can be sourced within a day or two elsewhere. Screens and keyboards for specific models, and anything Apple, are a different story: they are ordered, they take longer, and the price moves with the exchange rate.

Two practical consequences. If you are buying a machine in Morocco and expect to keep it five years, buying a model with a local presence will save you more than the specification difference ever will. And if you are told a part will arrive "tomorrow" for an unusual model, ask which supplier — a straight answer is a good sign.

MacBooks: we handle diagnosis, data recovery, SSD and RAM work where the model allows it, and software. For component-level board repair and screen replacement, we will tell you where to go rather than pretend.

03Data first — the rule that costs people the most

Data first — the rule that costs people the most

If a drive is failing, every additional hour it stays powered on reduces what can be recovered. The instinct to "try a few more times to boot it" is the single most expensive habit we see.

If your machine is making a clicking noise, freezing during boot, or has started reporting missing files: shut it down and stop. Say so when you contact us, and the technician will image the drive before touching anything else.

Say explicitly whether the data matters. It changes the order of operations completely: a fast reinstall on a machine whose data is disposable is a cheap job; the same reinstall on a machine whose only copy of five years of photos is on that drive is a different one, and it must be quoted as such before anyone starts.

04Small business and home office

Small business and home office

Beyond single machines, the requests we get most from small offices in Morocco: a shared printer that stops working every time someone reboots the router, Wi-Fi that does not reach the far end of the office, a network drive nobody can reach any more, and no backup at all.

The last one is worth pressing. A great many small businesses here run with a single copy of everything on one machine under a desk. A backup arrangement costs less than one afternoon of a technician's time and less than one day of downtime. Ask for it when you book, and we will scope it in the same visit.

Questions

What people ask us most.

Do you repair computers at home in Morocco?+

Yes — that is the default. A technician comes to your address in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, Fez or Agadir and works on site. A machine only leaves your home if the job genuinely requires a bench, and you are told before it does.

How much does computer repair cost in Morocco?+

On-site diagnosis runs 200 to 350 MAD. A Windows reinstall preserving your data is 300 to 600 MAD, malware removal 250 to 500 MAD, an SSD upgrade 250 to 500 MAD in labour plus the drive. Screens and batteries are quoted per model because the part dominates the price.

Do you fix MacBooks?+

Diagnosis, data recovery, software, and SSD or RAM work where the model allows it. For component-level board repair and screen replacement, Apple parts availability in Morocco is genuinely limited — we will tell you that up front and point you somewhere appropriate rather than hold your machine while a part does not arrive.

My laptop has become very slow. Is it worth repairing?+

Usually yes, and usually cheaply. On a machine still running a mechanical hard drive, an SSD swap plus a RAM top-up transforms it for a fraction of a replacement. If the machine is old enough that the fault is on the motherboard, we will say the repair is not worth it rather than sell you one.

I think my hard drive is failing. What should I do first?+

Power it down and stop trying to boot it. Every extra attempt on a failing drive reduces what can be recovered. Tell us when you get in touch, and the technician will image the drive before doing anything else.

Do your technicians speak English?+

Our team handles your request in English by phone and WhatsApp, and we assign an English-speaking technician where one is available. Say at the outset that it matters and we will filter for it rather than sending whoever is nearest.
